President Putin plays bowling (06.09.2007)
Ahead of visit to APEC CEO Summit in Australia president Vladimir Putin visited the town of Viluchinsk on the Kamchatka Peninsula in the country’s Far East. It’s the main atomic submarine base for Russia's Pacific fleet. Russia’s leader met with commanders of the fleet's nuclear submarines and inspected the vessels and crews.
After that Mr. Putin along with Russia’s first deputy prime minister Sergey Ivanov and defence minister Anatoly Serdukov paid a visit to the newly built sports center called Ocean which includes a lot of sports and recreational facilities.
First they went to check up the swimming pool and aquapark, then they watched the local volleyball team playing. Afterwards the President and the ministers came down to the bowling club equipped with 4 lanes of SWITCH. They took off the jackets and occupied 3 lanes. Unfortunately the Russia’s leader was not lucky on strikes that day. The best results shawed first deputy prime minister. “You play like professional”, - noticed Vladimir Putin. “No, I am just an amateur”, - said. Mr. Ivanov.
Vladimir Putin said he was satisfied with what he saw in Ocean center.
